The gateway of northern part of the country is Delhi. So to reach Leh and Ladakh you would first reach Delhi as it has one of the country’s best international Airports. If you are going on a conducted tour your tour managers will meet you at the airport. Then take shelter in one of the numerous classy hotels available in Delhi. Evening would be set free to explore the nearby market.

Overnight stay will be at Delhi of course.

We would be exploring the capital city the entire day today; both old and New Delhi. When the old Delhi speaks from pages of history, the New Delhi resembles to any other modern capital of the world. We would start our tour with the lanes of Old Delhi, starting with Jama Masjid, Asia’s largest mosque will be an incredible part of the visit. Later, the most famous Chandni Chowk bazaar is on hit list. It is the most famous business centre of Delhi. Riding in a Rickshaw through narrow streets you would feel the essence of Old Delhi’s lifestyle and cultural heritage.

 

You would feel the essence of secular India when you would see the co-existence of 3 temples of 3 different religions; Sikh temple, a Hindu temple and a Church. A hand pulled rickshaw drive through the clumsy lanes is a memorable experience you would go through. Next on cards is a visit to the Red Fort from outside.

 

Later half of the day is set to explore New Delhi. It also has its own historical heritage. A short visit to Mughal emperor Humayun’s tomb followed by a visit to Qutub Minar is scheduled.

 

Then the next destinations are superb exteriors of Parliament Building and President’s house spreading over 330 acres of land. You would see the memorial that was made in the memory of Indian soldiers died in World War I.

The overnight stay and the next morning breakfast will be at a Delhi hotel.

A flight from Delhi airport will bring you to Leh which is very truly the roof of the world. We would arrange for prior bookings of your hotel. It is better to take a nap at Leh for that day, as the altitude suddenly becomes too high. There is a change in air pressure and you would need to give your body mechanism the time and chance to get acquainted with this extreme climate change.

After taking breakfast at the hotel the expedition for the day would begin. Leh has many well-known old monasteries situated at ascetic places that would be scheduled for you.

 

The first destination will be Thiksey Monastery. An early morning visit will give you a rare chance of seeing the sunrise between mountain peaks and also the prayer session in the monastery which is a unique experience. Then the next destination may be Hemis Monastery which is known as the biggest one at Leh region. One must carry packed lunch with him because these places are quite remote and lack amenities. Coming back to Leh we would pay a visit to the royal Shey palace.

The overnight stay will be at Leh hotel.

After breakfast the journey would begin by the car drive toward Uletopko Camp. It is approximately 70 kilometres west of Leh. On the way we would visit the eminent Gurudwara known as Patthar Sahib, Magnetic Hill and Hall of fame. You can take a shelter at Uletopko Camp and take the lunch. After lunch a tour to Alchi village and the local monastery will be a memorable organised.

 

The overnight stay would be at the Camp.

If you want to make a visit to Ladakh’s very own nunnery monastery you would need to start early morning towards Ridzong monastery. It will surely bring a unique satisfaction. We would then drive back to the Camp.

 

After breakfast the journey goes back to Leh. On the way a visit is scheduled to Likir Monastry. Coming back to Leh one retires to the hotel and stays overnight there.

The next destination would be Pangong Lake. We would be going through Changla pass that is situated 5486 Meters, above sea level. Mounting the pass, the enthralling natural beauty of the mountain would mesmerize you for sure. After climbing the pass you can enjoy a lunch at Tsoltak the wide spread grazing land of yaks.

 

We would then travel towards Durbuk and reach the western shoreline of Pangong Lake. The nature has drawn a picturesque all around this lake. You would feel quite charmed with the idea that half of the 144 kilometres long and 5-6 kilometres wide lake is running through the Indo China Border. In the afternoon the journey would begin to go back to Leh.

 

Overnight stay would be at the hotel in Leh as soon as you reach.

After breakfast the next journey would start to Khardung La which is towards north-east. The 5,600 meter high pass is famous for being the world’s highest point where you could reach by car. One can view unique natural view from the pass. After enjoying the beauty for some time we would drive to Nurba valley.

We would rest here in the tents. After a little rest we would set you free for a visit towards Diskit monastery and the nearby town of Diskit.

The overnight stay will be at Nurba Valley.

After taking breakfast we would go to nearby hot Sulphur spring of Panamic. Once you return, a hot tempting lunch would be served in the camp.

We would then pack our bags for a return drive back to Leh.

After breakfast at Leh hotel, you will be escorted to the Airport. From there journey towards Delhi will be flagged off. This will be the end of Leh and Ladakh tour but the memories will be everlasting.
