After reaching Delhi International Airport, a short introduction session is done and you move to a reputed Hotel for stay. The tour will make a magnificent start by taking you to Jama Masjid, Humayun Tomb and Qutab Minar. Overnight stay today will be at a hotel in Delhi.

The day starts fresh with wonderful tour within Delhi. On this day we will cover Jamma Masjid- India’s largest mosque. It took approx. 6 years to build this mosque. Rickshaw ride at the Chandni Chowk market, next in plan will be the sight of cremation of father of our Nation- Mahatma Gandhi known as Raj Ghat.

 

After exploring Old Delhi in morning we will go to see New Delhi. This part of city was designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens. This part includes India gate, President House, Parliament House and ever busy Connaught Place. This will be followed by visits to ancient monuments like Humayun’s Tomb and Qutab Minar. Humayun Tomb was built by a Persian architect chosen by Bega Begum – first wife of Humanyun. Qutab Minar – the tallest minar in country is an historic Islamic monument.

 

After a long tiring day, your overnight stay will be at hotel.

Third day morning is planned for a travel from Delhi to Jaipur by road. A drive of approx. 277 kilometres full of fun and frolic will make your day. Once we reach Jaipur and after completing boarding and lodging at a hotel, rest of the day will be at your leisure. You will visit local market to shop for unique souvenirs this city sells.  Overnight stay will be in Jaipur.

Forth morning of this tour is planned for Amber fort. You will be escorted by our representative for a delightful excursion at fort. From foothills to entrance you will be taken to Amber fort entrance on Elephant. This unique experience of riding elephant will make the trip worth. That’s not all. Once you are inside, you will get to see palace of mirrors, zillions of tiny glittering glasses and mirrors, elegantly maintained garden and the hall of public audience.

 

After fort, we will take a tour to the city which is followed by visiting famous space observatory called Jantar Mantar and City Palace. The city palace today is well preserved, for tourist to visit and explore it. It has been converted into a museum displaying weapons which were once used by royal family of Jaipur. A small area of palace is still used by royal family.

 

There is another place you can’t afford to miss, which is famous Hawa Mahal and incredible façade balconies of this palace of winds. In initial days, the Mahal roof top was used by royal ladies to see daily chores being performed by locales. Today, it is opened for tourist to take a glance of city from here.

 

Rest of the day is at your leisure to shop as Jaipur has some of the most colorful bazaars in Asia. To name some, popular ones are Badi Chaupar, Bhindon ka Rasta, Chameli Bazaar, Chandpol, Chora Rasta. Your overnight stay will be at a hotel in Jaipur. 

On this day we will reach Abhaneri, approx. 95 kilometres from Jaipur, towards East of capital city. A drive of approx. 1 hour 40 minutes will take you for a tour to local lifestyle, checking out the traditions and visiting village schools. Sightseeing and witnessing of step wells (Baoris) will fascinate you for sure. These step wells in past were not only served as the sources of water, but also the rest rooms for travelers. Abhaneri has some of the oldest and the best step wells to see.

 

This will be followed by another drive to reach Bharatpur.  After checking in, a short fresh up session is planned for a visit to Keoladeo Ghana National Park. Also known as Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary, this national park is a host to thousands of migratory birds. You will be exploring the jungle on foot or on Rickshaw. An interesting activity will it be, when you will want to know the names of the birds while you watch some you’d never seen before.  The overnight stay will at a hotel. 

We will be travelling from Bharatpur to Agra on this day.  Passing through Mughal capital of Emperor Akbar – Fatehpur Sikri, You will see gracefully preserved, beautiful buildings in the city. Once we reach Agra, we will visit Agra Fort and the legendary Taj Mahal and witness the sunset there. You will be enjoying “Tanga” (horse ride) to reach the destination much awaited. Both Agra Fort and Taj Mahal have their own impressive stories.

 

Agra fort was begun by Akbar leaving next two generations to complete it. This fort also shows the magical view of Taj Mahal.

 

Taj Mahal was built in 1630, by Shah Jahan for his queen Mumtaz Mahal, this marvel architecture is a rare creation of the world crafted by 20,000 craftsmen brought from Persia, France, Turkey and Italy. After a tiring day, dinner will be served at the hotel, followed by an overnight stay.

A splendid train journey towards South from Agra to Jhansi is planned for the day. From there we will reach Orchha by road, which is on the banks of River Betwa, approx. 15 kilometres from Jhansi. This place offers to flaunt many exclusively built temples and palaces, which were built by famous Bundela rulers of India in 16th century.  In the evening, witness Aarti ceremony in Raja Ram Temple. Overnight stay will be at the hotel.

On this day we will travel South East from Orchha to reach Khajuraho. A long drive of 172.5 kilometres by road, approx. 2 hours 50 minutes journey is planned for you. Khajuraho, Madhya Pradesh has the largest group of temples popular for their sculptures.  These temples were built by monarch. Today the villagers take special care to preserve the temples.

 

After temple visits, rest of the day is at our leisure to explore the city, with an overnight stay at a hotel in Khajuraho.

Morning again visit Khajuraho temples. Later we will be flying towards East to Varanasi from Khajuraho. Varanasi is also known as “Banaras” and “Kashi” by localities. A place of pilgrimage for people of Hindu religion, come here to bathe in Holy River.

 

After a tiring, yet joyful journey rest of the day is at our leisure with overnight stay at a hotel in Varanasi.

On 10th day morning we will take a boat ride in Ganges to view the sunrise, and we will pass through the cleansing rituals which take place in river bank Ghats. You will see huge stone steps, terraces, small centers basically used as “Dharamshalas” for pilgrims to stay. At dawn, you will see activities of devotees performing rituals at Ghats. Boat ride along Ghats will give you magnificent view with sunrise and sunset both being equally marvellous.

 

Next in the plan will be a tour to other attractions of city. We will walk through narrow lanes of this old city to reach “Vishwanath Temple”. It is also known as the “Golden temple of Banaras”, because of its golden color roof. Followed by this, we will visit “Bharat Mata Mandir.

 

Afternoon is planned for our next destination – Sarnath. Approx. 10 kilometres from Varanasi, this place is known for Lord Budha’s first preaching. You will also see brick temples, ruins of Stupas, collection of Buddhist sculptures.

 

Finally in the evening it is at your own interest to revisit Ghats of river Ganges again.  The evening views at Ghats are amazing to see. They are lit with traditional oil-lamps and candles all around. If you visit, you will see prayer ceremony being performed by people collectively. You will also see floating lamps in Ganges, making the surrounding beautiful and soothing your soul and ears. The overnight stay will be at a hotel in Varanasi.

Morning is at your leisure to further explore the city of Varanasi. Early evening we will reach Mughal Sarai railway station to catch our North-Eastern Express train to New Jalpaiguri. It will be an overnight journey.

This morning we will reach New Jalpaiguri. At Jalpaiguri, you will witness long stretches of jungles, tea estates and Himalayas. We will set you free to take a drive around. Believe us your eyes won’t feel to rest just to keep watching this beautiful piece of area.

 

We will then move for a three hour drive to Kalimpong- beautiful hill station. We will visit the flower market, known for its beautiful orchids. You will see various flowers, grown on Himalayas that contribute to economy of Kalimpong region. Rest of the day is at our leisure to explore hill station, with an overnight stay at a hotel in Kalimpong.

On 13th day morning we will drive towards South direction from Kalimpong to Gangtok. It will be a 75 kilometres drive and will take approx. 1.5 hours to reach our destination.

 

After a tiring journey rest of the day is at our leisure with an overnight stay at a hotel in Gangtok.

On 14th day we will visit Sikkim’s largest monastery, Rumtek Monastery located in a lower valley. We will then visit Royal Monastery – Tsuklakhang, the Institute of Tibetology and the Orchid Sanctuary. The overnight stay will be at a hotel in Gangtok.

On 15th day we will travel from Gangtok to Darjeeling towards South West direction. It will be a 2 hours journey by road. You will be taken for a toy train ride where you will witness the natural panorama view of city.  Rest of the day is at our leisure with overnight stay at a hotel.

On 16th day we will explore Darjeeling. We will visit the Tiger hills and take a glimpse of sunrise over snow clad peaks of Kanchenjunga which is the third highest mountain of world. Then we will visit Ghoom Gompa a monastery and visit Badamtam tea estates. Next in the tour is Batasia loop, which is approx. 5 kilometres from Darjeeling by road. From this place you will be able to see 360 degree view of the majestic Darjeeling and Kanchenjunga ranges.

 

We will leave the rest of day for your leisure to shop handcrafts, accessories and souvenirs. Overnight stay will be at a hotel in Darjeeling.

On 17th day we will travel from Darjeeling to Kolkata through Bagdogra, by flight. If time permits we will take a quick tour of city visiting Dakshineshwar Kali Temple, Eden Gardens, Victoria Memorial Hall, Howrah Bridge and Park Street.

 

We can also try some smacking mouth-watering Bengali street food can be ordered today. Jhal Muri (rice krispies with mix of peanutes, chopped onions, coriander), Pani Puri (an interesting hollow like round chip, filled with spiced potatoes, dipped into tamarind water and eaten in a single bite) and Kathi Roll (vegetable wrap), which is said to be originated here are available at affordable rates.
