Passing through significant number of monasteries, villages and prodigious sceneries – we will hit the Indus and Nubra valley. Aiming to reach world’s highest motor-able road, Khardung La at an apex height of 5359 metres would leave you spell bound. An overnight stay is then planned near the turquoise-coloured Tsomoriri Lake. Crossing the Polokongka La (4920 meters) via Pang Valley, the deserted barren mountains will soon pave a way to green hills cased with pine forests and fruit orchards.  A step towards nature and tranquillity is always a creator of countless preserving moments, strengthened relationships and relaxed mind, body and soul. The 18 days tour is divided into exploring parts of Leh, Dharamshala, Manali and Amritsar.

The journey is marked with the warm traditional Indian welcome at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International airport. We would not plan anything cumbersome and would leave the hours for you to rest.

 

Evening would be again at your leisure to explore the nearby market areas. An overnight stay in a reputed hotel will follow.

Fresh day will start with the highlights of both New Delhi & Old Delhi. A drive through the colonial heritage of Lutyen’s Delhi, a visit to Qutab Minar, a 73 meter high minaret of victory built by Qutab-ud–din-Aibakin in 1193 which depicts the supremacy of Islam and Humayun’s Tomb will be undertaken.

 

Next stop will be Parliament house. Situated in the center of New Delhi, the parliament house is also known as the Sansad Bhawan you will see this intelligently crafted building right at the end of the Sansad Marg.

 

Our next halt will be at the President Palace. Official house of the President of India, is what you would see next. Also called the Rashtrapati Bhawan, this magnificent palace has 340 rooms that include, guest rooms, halls and offices. We would take you to see the beautiful Mughal Garden inside the President house (if you happen to tour in the month of February-March). The Mughal Garden is an exquisite garden of endless flowers which is kept open for general public for few days.

 

The other half of the day will be dedicated to Mughal’s capital of Shahjahanabad, today known as Old Delhi. A visit to Jama Masjid, Asia’s largest mosque is an incredible part of Delhi visit. A ride through narrow streets of Chandi Chowk in a rickshaw will mark the evening. Chandni chowk, better known as the food capital of India would fill you with sweets sellers to namkeen sellers. To make a good start, walk towards the Paranthe Wali

 

Gali to munch some relishing “paranthas” (Staple food of Delhi; chapattis stuffed with various ingredients and species)

 

Return to the hotel and a good night sleep.

Day will begin with a flight to Leh. Leh being towards the extreme northern part of India, change in altitude and climate will be felt. Once you reach and check-in, rest of the day would be planned to invite leisure to acclimatize to the change in altitude. Overnight stay today will be at a hotel in Leh.

Exploring Leh Palace, Shankar Gompa and Shanti Stupa are planned for the day. Leh palace is a 9 storeyed building. We suggest that you should not miss to catch the glimpse of the palace under moon light. Do not forget to take your camera along as we bet you would want to take the memories back home.

 

Shankar Gompa is just 10-12 minutes distance from Leh Palace. It is tiny nice hidden Gompa. We will spend some time here, and will then drive to reach Shanti Stupa. It was built by the Japanese, this Stupa would for sure fascinate you with colourful soil rocks. Overnight stay today will be at a hotel in Leh.

We will make an early start to witness the Prayer Ceremony at Thiksey. Visiting Shey which houses some of the largest statues of Buddha and Hemis is scheduled on the cards. It is one of the most famous monasteries showcasing region’s finest art treasures. A relaxing stop is planned at Stakna Gompa before returning to the hotel.

We will head on to Uleytopko and would stop to visit Basgo Palace. It was constructed in 16th & 17th Century. The 12th century Alchi monastery is incomparable. This Alchi monastery is known for Kashmiri style painting, woodcarvings and perhaps some of the finest frescoes of the world. You could stop by to pick up some mementos for your loved ones. Ridzong monastery in the later afternoon is next in queue.

Once you return, dinner will be served at the Camp followed by an overnight stay at camp itself.

Early morning departure to Lamayuru is scheduled today. Ladakh’s oldest Gompa perched on a steep cliff overlooked by massive mountains is what you will witness here. We will drive back to Leh in the afternoon.

Once we reach the hotel, evening will be kept free. You could explore the streets of Leh. Overnight stay will be at the hotel.

Crossing the Khardung La Pass (5603 metres), world’s highest motor-able pass, we will reach Nubra. Leh to nubra is just 3 hours drive by road. Once you reach and check-in, few hours will be left free for you to rest.

Afternoon will be spent visiting Disket Gompa. The oldest and the largest Buddhist Monastery in the Nubra Valley, this Gompa was founded in 14th century. We will return to our camp in evening for some time to be spent in the Camp itself till dinner is served.

The entire day today is to be spent at Sumur Gompa and Panamik Lake. Sumur Gompa is popular for Buddhist idols. Witness the beautiful roads along Nubra Valley. We let you free for capturing the moments to take back home.

 

Panamik Lake is surrounded by beautiful gardens of Sumer village. We will stay here for a while and will return back to our Camp for an overnight stay.

A returning drive to Leh in the morning with relaxed evening will be planned next for you. You could use this time to explore the location as per your interest. Note that this journey will be approx. 3 hours.

Drive off-road in an easterly direction, along the river Indus to reach the Tso Moriri (4400m). You will fall in love with beautiful shades of blue of this lake. One of the beautiful romantic places in the world, Tso Moriri is approx 53 kilometers from Leh. A visit to Himalayan villages if desired is kept in the slot. Overnight stay today will be at the Camp.

A transitory drive through the desert plateau towards Manali in South-East part of Himachal Pradesh is next in the tour. Tsomoriri to Sarchu is approx 200 kilometres and we will be driving for about 6 hours at a stretch. You could stop by to click some beautiful spots.

 

Once you reach and check-in, the overnight stay will be at the Camp.

Witnessing one of the most beautiful sceneries, Manali is the next stop via Baralacha Pass (4,892 metres). The sudden transition of deserted barren mountains to green hills carpeted with pine forests and fruit orchards is eye stunning.

 

After you check-in, rest of the hours will be kept free for you to rest. Overnight stay will be at a hotel.

Exploring Manali, a beautiful valley embedded with perfect sceneries and pine forests is scheduled for the day. We will have a day here to capture the eye-catching views. Popular for selling souvenirs from Himachal Pradesh, Ladakh and Tibet we let you shop some shawls at Bhuttico, Tibet Emporium and Tibet Art Collects. Overnight stay today will at a hotel in Manali.

An early morning drive to Dharamshala, home to Dalai Lama and the Tibetan government in exile will be next. Between the journeys you may stop by to gulp some Punjabi and Chinese according to your taste. This will be an approx. 5 hours drive by road. Overnight stay today will be at the hotel at Dharamshala.

Morning will be triggered towards South-East direction with a move to explore more of Dharamshala with the day’s ending in holy city Amritsar. Dharmshala to Amritsar is approx. 4 hours drive by road.

 

Once you reach, you will check-in and rest for few hours at the hotel. Afternoon will be fixed for a visit to Jallian Wala Bagh. A historic place from the books of Indian Freedom Struggle, gained its attention, because of British General Reginald Dyer, who gunned down thousands of innocent people, who had gathered for a peaceful talk in Jallian wala bagh. Having narrow gates and tall walls, the park blocked ways for these people to run to save their lives. Today the bullet marks and various components of that day are preserved at the same venue.

 

Our next visit will be to Durgiana Temple. Temple of Goddess Durga, build in 16th century will be our last excursion of the day. We will then return to our hotel, for an overnight stay in Amritsar

Golden morning will be planned with a visit to Golden temple today. A must have Langar served at the temple is planned for you. In the afternoon, a visit to Wagah witnessing a change of guard ceremony is next. You may return back to golden temple in evening. Overnight stay again will be at a hotel in Amritsar

We will catch a returning flight to Delhi.
