One must commence his tour to Rajasthan from Delhi. Delhi is the entrance gate of Rajasthan. So every Rajasthan tour starts with Delhi. After reaching Delhi, the best option is to retire to one of the numerous hotels in the capital city of India. One should spend the second half visiting the glorious past and the present glamour of the historical city that has gained the international importance for being the Capital of the largest democracy of the world. If one wants more thrill he must take the advantage of an evening tour with the unfold pages of history. Overnight stay today will be at the hotel in Delhi.

As it is impossible to be acquainted with Delhi in one day one should dedicate the next day to go through the alleys of this historical city. Delhi is full of historical relics and tombs; one of such historical monuments is Qutub Minar. It is a historical tower of 239 feet height made with sandstone. Then one can visit the tomb of Mughal Emperor Humayun, Jama Masjid that commonly known as mosque of Friday which was built with the time frame of 1,644 to 1,688. Then one can make a journey through Chandni Chowk- the eminent market place that is attracting visitors from centuries.

 

From the pages of history one can easily look forward the modern architecture of India Gate, the exterior famous Parliament House; the temple of modern democracy. One can also make a holy visit to Raj Ghat where The Father of Nation-Mahatma Gandhi was cremate. While visiting these entire places one can drive past the historical Red Fort.

 

The evening of Delhi has its own attraction and one can enjoy leisure time at ease. Overnight stay will be at a hotel in Delhi.

A tour to India is ever incomplete without a journey to Agra- the old city of history and romance. With an early morning train one can easily reach to Agra. Any tour to Agra must include Agra Fort and Itmad-Ud Daulah. But the main attraction of Agra lies in Taj Mahal the tomb built in the memory of Queen Mumtaj Mahal by the mighty Mughal Emperor Shahjahan. Hence, we will be visiting this magnificent masterpiece and spend the entire day here.

 

Situated on the bank of River Yamuna, Taj Mahal stands firm and beautiful depicting incredible work done by the artist brought from Persia and Italy to build it. We will let you explore the Mahal on your own for some time and feel the essence of Mughal era.

 

Followed by this, there will be a visit to Agra Fort. Built by Emperor Akbar, this fort will let you witness another spectacular structural architecture; a mix of Hindu and Islamic blends. The fort gives a magical view of Taj Mahal.

 

Our next stop will be at Itmad-Ud Daulah, an exquisite tomb built by Emperor Jahengir’s queen, in the memory of her father. It is sometimes called the “Baby Taj”. You will see beautiful gardens surrounding this tomb.

 

We will return in the evening to our hotel, for an overnight stay here.

Today the journey will start for the colourful sites of Rajasthan. The first target of the tour will be Samode. We will start our journey after breakfast to drive for 6 hours’ time.

 

On the way we will witness the historical remains of Fatehpur Sikri. It is situated 26 miles from West of Agra. Built by Emperor Akbar, you will be amazed to know that, Akbar being an illiterate took keen interest in architecture and literature of Sikri. After a continuous journey the body will need a little rest. So the best thing will be spending a leisure evening at Samode.

As soon as the sun rises, the long awaited journey to the heritage sites of Rajasthan will start. We will accompany you with a guide to visit the well-known city Jaipur. The Amber Fort and Hawa Mahal are scheduled to enchant you with its unique beauty. The Amber fort, also called the Amer Fort is at the hill-top, spread over 4 square kilometres.

 

From the foot-hills to the top, we will take you on an elephant ride to reach the entrance of the fort. From here the fort is to be explored on foot. Built by Maharaja Man Singh-1, Amer fort let you witness an artistic structure, built blending elements of both Rajputs and Hindus.

 

Our next spot is Hawa Mahal. Also known as the palace of winds, it was built for the royal ladies, who were never allowed to come out in public. From the roof top and from the windows, they used to watch the daily chores of people of the city. Today the palace is open for people to come and explore the palace. You would be able to view major portion of the city from here.

 

Then our next visit will be to the City palace and the Observatory made centuries before. You will get to know about the rich Indian history. As the tour to these places will be complete within evening, we will enjoy the evening walking at the famous markets of Jaipur which sells handcrafts and culture of Rajasthan within shops. Overnight stay will be at a hotel in Samode.

The next day will start with a new exploration to the core of Rajasthan. After breakfast we will start early towards Nimaj. It is a 5-6 hours’ journey from Samode.

 

It is better not to keep a highly active plan for the day. Rather a leisurely evening will make one able to understand the true essence of Rajasthan.

A tour to Rajasthan is never complete unless a tourist goes to the villages of Rajasthan. The heritage, culture and crafts of Rajasthan lay in its villages. The next morning, after taking breakfast we will visit the nearby villages of Nimaj and enjoy the local culture and food.

Next morning after taking the breakfast one must start the journey towards Jodhpur. It will take around 4 hours’ time. The city is known as the Blue City. After reaching, half day would be secured for sightseeing at Mehrangarh Fort. This famous fort is situated above a small hill that is at least 400 feet higher above the city. The whole fort area is encircled with very thick walls. Inside the fort there are many palaces renowned for the complicated and elaborated figurine and magnanimous courtyards.

 

The visit must include a stop to Jaswant Thada that a memorial made with white marble stone which was built in the reminiscence of Maharaja Jaswant II in the year of 1889. Overnight stay today will be at Jodhpur.

Next morning, after the breakfast the journey will start towards Narlai which is approx. 5 hours’ drive away from the city of Jodhpur. In between, we will stop at the eminent Jain Temple of Ranakpur. We will make a small visit to Adinath and Lord Shiva temple.

 

Around late afternoon the tour will end at Narlai, leaving you to explore the village of Narlai.

The next day will take the mesmerised travel to the city of Udaipur that is just 1 hour journey from Narlai. The main attraction of Udaipur is the historical lake Pichola that is guarded with old hills of Rajasthan, which will be in our schedule for the day. The eyes will experience new scenery of Udaipur as you will see the green nature.

 

Lake Pichola is an artificial fresh water Lake, built in 1362 AD. Note that you will be observing the oldest Lake of Udaipur. Built during the rule of Maharana Lakha, this beautiful Lake was built by Pichhu Banjara.

 

You will see a strong stone dam constructed on the shores of Lake. Maharana Udai Singh, not only created this magnificent dam, but also carved various temples, bathing Ghats and palaces in and around this Lake.

 

We will organise a common boat ride in the evening to experience the marvellous view. Overnight stay today will be at a hotel in Udaipur.

Today the entire day will be spent in sightseeing, exploring the City Palace, Jagdish temple and visiting the famous Sahelion ki Bari Gardens.

 

Situated on the banks of Lake Pichola, City palace was built by Maharana Udai Singh and later completed by his successors. It is the largest palace complex of Rajasthan. It is a blend of European, Medieval and Chinese architecture.

 

Jagdish Temple, situated close to the city palace has ornamented interior and showcases sculptures. We will make short visits at these temples and move for our next stop at Sahelion ki Bari Gardens, also called the courtyard of the maidens. It is said that the garden was built for 48 girls; Maharana Sangram Singh II received in the form of dowry.  Today the garden is preserved and maintained beautifully with fountains, lawns, pools, flowers and trees. You will see a white marble fountain in the centre with black marble fountains in the corners. You will set free to stay here and explore the place.

 

When you return, the overnight stay will be at a hotel in Udaipur.

Next morning will announce the end of this ever-lasting tour. The morning flight from Udaipur airport will be ready to bring the tourists back to Mumbai Airport. You can take your preferred flight to your hometown from the Mumbai International Airport. The journey will end but the tour will never conclude. The colourful nature and history of Rajasthan will keep on attracting many visitors.
