You will be moved to your hotel where you will get the rest of the day at your leisure. Delectable mouth-watering Bengali dishes are set in the menu. The evening can be spent in the streets of Kolkata buying some local souvenirs and enjoying street food.

The pleasant morning awaits you to explore the East of Kolkata through the airport at Dibrugarh. It is popularly known as the tea city, situated in Assam. Beautifully planted and carefully protected, the city has emerged as a tourist place because of its unique view. You will probably reach there by afternoon then you will have the whole evening to spend it in your own way. The whole night in the hotel room will tease you with the eagerness to visit the destination with lovely scenery.

 

Your stay for today will be at a hotel in Dibrugarh.

If you are a tea lover, you are surely at the right place. The morning Tea at Dibrugarh will amaze you with its peculiar taste and it will fill all enthusiasm for the whole day. We will drive towards the North of Dibrugarh to visit tea plantation farm and the bank of River Brahmaputra. Pluck the leaf to get the essence of real tea at the farms. Get set to witness how tea leaves are prepared into tea.

 

This area has a rich tribal history that has some connection with Burma and Tibet, but the amalgamation has made it even better to experience the Indian diversity. This place witnesses the diversified cultures that are unified with peace. Complete day journey will give you the best ever overnight sleep at your hotel.

The next morning will bring you a new energy to explore more of the Dibrugarh. We will move to the rural side of the Dibrugarh such as Jugun and common wealth war grave at Digboi. Lot of mountains around this place will lift your soul with green spirit and people around the village will fill you with lovely shades of life by sharing their own experiences. The villages in this area also have heavy influence of Thai. It is also called the home to the Namphake Buddist Monastery.

 

We will visit the historic World War II (WW II) famed Stilwell Road (Ledo-Burma Road) and Stilwell Park named after US General Stilwell and built as an alternative to the Japanese Burma Road to supply the Chinese during the Burma campaign. WWII remains inculcate Ledo airstrip, Tipongquarry and his Steam Powered Train in the heritage park. In the evening there will be a celebration as we will take part in Traditional Bihu and dinner all in Assamese style. Thereafter the night stay will be at your hotel in Dibrugarh.

Next morning we will enjoy a 4 hour drive in South-West of Dibrugarh to Jorhat city. This will be your last day at Dibrugarh.  It is the second largest populous city in Assam. There are many Tea Gardens that have their impressive presence all over the India and worldwide. Here we would take you to visit Toklai, a Tea Research centre association. It is the world’s largest and oldest Tea Research centre. If you have visited Dibrugarh during April, do plan to see the popular festivals celebrated here. The prime ones are Bihu, Magh Bihu and Dehing Patkai Festival. We will stay at a hotel in Jorhat this night.

This morning we will drive towards little outer region of Jorhat, about 20 kilometres from South-East of the city. Hoolongapur Gibbon wildlife sanctuary will be planned for the day. It has the only gibbons available in India. The Park area is also home to other members of the primate family such as the Stump Tailed Macaque, Rhesus Macaque, Northern Pig-tailed Macaque, Eastern Assamese Macaque and Capped Languor. The park is also home to Indian elephants, tigers, leopards, boar and 219 species of bird. The whole wildlife area will make you happy. We should tell you that you should keep a camera handy to click some exceptional moves of these species. Overnight stay today will be at a hotel in Jorhat.

This morning we will drive down the town to silk farms. Farming provides the source of income to the local population in this area. In the afternoon we will drive to East of Jorhat city to visit Shivsagar which was capital city of Ahom dynasty who ruled here for around 600 years until British people takeover this place. It is a small village in Assam, not completely developed. Interestingly there is still so much to advent here.

 

Ancient monuments, temples and palaces will drive you to the architectural heritage of Assam. Picture clicking may be prohibited at some areas here. Ask your guide to alert you. Overnight stay will be at a hotel in Jorhat.

This morning with an enthusiasm we will move towards North of Jorhat city and lead to the Majuli Island. It is shortlisted by UNESCO as the world heritage site. In fact it is the largest River Island in the world. Spread over 452 square kilometres. This island flaunts its unmatched beauty. What more does this place offer? Majuli attracts birdwatchers and you would love to know the fact that the island is home to approximately 100 species of birds.

This morning you will be moved to Jorhat Airport to fly back to Kolkata. Here, the rest of the time is all yours. If time permits you could ask us if we can arrange a visit to some not to be missed places in Kolkata. Dakshineshwar Kali Temple, Eden Gardens, Victoria Memorial Hall, Howrah Bridge and Park Street are few to name in the list of many tourist spots that city owns.

 

Some smacking mouth-watering Bengali street food can be ordered today. Jhal Muri (rice crispies with mix of peanuts, chopped onions, coriander), Pani Puri (an interesting hollow like round chip, filled with spiced potatoes, dipped into tamarind water and eaten in a single bite) and Kathi Roll(vegetable wrap), which is said to be originated here are available at affordable rates.
