On the very first day of arrival to the heart city of state you will be escorted to your hotel. Freshen up and get ready to explore and experience one of the finest cities in India, which is also known as the greenest city with a very exotic climate that you won’t like to get rid of unlike other metropolitan cities of India. In the afternoon, you will enjoy the private guided tour of Bangalore which includes a visit to ‘Vidhan Sabha’, ‘Bull Temple’, ‘Tipu Palace’ & ‘Lal Bagh’. Enjoy the time of getting a glimpse of ‘Silicon Valley of India’ i.e. the city of Bangalore. Overnight stay will be at Bangalore.

Followed by the breakfast in Bangalore, will be a 3 hour journey which will take you to Mysore. The next two days of your itinerary will be at Mysore. Mysore is the third largest city of Karnataka, which served as a ‘Capital City of Mysore’ for nearly six centuries. Mysore is yet to, and perhaps will never get over its past. All roads in Mysore lead to Mysore Palace. You will be able to experience the rich past that’s made up of kings, queens, rich patrons and extravagant durbars. The streets of Mysore are old and good part of history can be traced by following their winding paths. On arrival, you will be guided to your hotel. In the afternoon you will enjoy the private guided tour of Mysore including a visit to Mysore Palace, Art Gallery Museum & Chamundi Hill. Overnight stay will be at the hotel.

After breakfast you will make an excursion to Somanathapura, a town located 35 kilometres from the city of Mysore and get a glimpse of the famous Keshava Temple which is a finest and a complete example of the Hoysala architecture which was built by Soma – a General in the army of the Hoysala ruler, Narsimha III. After that you visit Srirangpatna. In the afternoon you will visit Deva Raja market. For a visitor to this city, Devaraja market is an apt place to get a flavor of the local people’s (Mysoreans, as they are called) daily life. With more than 100 years of history, this market is well knitted into the heritage of Mysore.

After breakfast, you will leave Mysore and drive towards Hassan which is a 3.5 hours of drive. People call Hassan as the temple-architectural capital of Karnataka. On the way, you will visit Shravanbelagola which is one of the oldest and most important Jain shrines in India with a history going back to the 3rd century BC. By noon, Hassan will be all set to welcome you. You then, check-in at the hotel. Afternoon time will be all yours to relax at the hotel and pamper you with in-house facilities.

After having breakfast at Hassan, you will enjoy a private guided tour of Belur famous for its magnificent Hoysala Temple Complex and Halebid and the Hoysaleswara Temple which has a wealth of sculptural detail, the walls covered with gods, goddesses, animals and dancing girls. We will then proceed towards Chikmagalur. For the next two days, Chikmagalur will surprise you with its sublime beauty. Chikmagalur is located at the foothills of Mullayanagiri range. It is famous for its hill stations and is also known as the ‘Coffee land’ of Karnataka. The other half of the day has been reserved for your independent activities wherein you can explore the town.

We will commence the day by visiting Coffee Plantations and Coffee Museum of Chikmagalur. We will then let everybody discover the pristine beauty of town. For the foodies, the streets of Chikmagalur behold some mouth-watering delicacies such as Badasha, Khaza, Kazur, Samosa, Pakoda. Overnight stay is planned at Chikmagalur.

An early morning drive from Chikmagalur to Hospet which is near Hampi will be next on the hit list. After an eight hour long drive, we will reach Hospet and we will check in at our hotel. The second half of the day will be kept free at leisure to relax after the long drive. You can visit the nearby tourist attractions like the Tungabhadra Dam.

Day will be dedicated entirely for exploring the capital of kingdom of Vijayanagar at Hampi. This World Heritage Site is located around 15 kilometres from Hospet. The kingdom of Vijaynagar is of great historic significance and the majestic ruins of this mighty kingdom. The once powerful Vijayanagar Empire, of which Vijaynagara was a part, was compared to Rome by the Portuguese traveller Paes. A visit to the Virupaksha Temple, that forms the core of Hampi village; Lakshmi Narasimha, the massive 22 feet high largest idol in Hampi; Durbar Enclosure, comprising of – Mahanavami Dibba Pushkarini or stepped wells, Lotus Mahal, Elephant Stables, Queen’s Bath and Vitthala Temple, the stone chariot is planned for the day. We will be staying at a hotel in Hospet.

After bidding Hospet adieu, we will proceed towards Badami which is the next spot on our list. 4 hours from Hospet, this place holds magnificent rock cut architectural instances from the past. Followed by check-in at a hotel, we will visit Badami caves which are considered as an example of Indian Badami Chalukya architecture. The city is known for its ancient cave temples which are carved from the sandstones hills above.

 

Here we will be visiting Badami cave complex and the temples of Bhutanatha Lake. Badami, renowned for its rock-cut cave shrines, is an outstanding example of early Chalukyan art. The caves are sure to take your breath away with their simple exteriors but exquisite interiors! The town is picturesquely situated at the mouth of a ravine, between two rocky red-sandstone hills. Badami has a fort atop the hill and there are four rock-cut shrines on a very tall rock, one situated above the other.

 

We will spend the night at Badami.

After having breakfast in Badami, we will head towards Aihole which is 36 kilometres from Badami. The sculptured caves and the stone temple sites of this small area are not to be missed out. They date back to the sixth century when Chalukya kings ruled the region. Some must visits include the Pattadakkal and the Virupaksha Temple which narrates episodes from the Hindu epics Ramayana and Mahabharata as well as throwing light on the social life of early Mallikarjuna. We willleave you by yourselves for other half of the day. Here comes an end to the journey of Karnataka, which you will never want to get over with.

We will now proceed to the ‘Tourist Paradise of India’ – Goa. It’s an 8 hours’ drive from Badami. The state of Goa is located on the western coast of India in coastal belt known as ‘Konkan’. The Goan air welcomes you at the hotel. While planning other half ofthe day, the mesmerizing body spas and the enriching foot massages available at the beaches of Goa are not to be ignored.

Today we will be travelling towards South East part of the country. Post breakfast, the city will be all yours. We recommend you to visit South Goa which is known for its serenity, greenery and peace. We recommend a day trip to Dhudhsagar Falls. Please note that the car and driver will not be at disposal.

Discover the best of North Goa all by yourself. The breathtakingly beautiful beaches of Calangute, Baga, Candolim and Morjim are surely an addition to the wonders of India. The markets of Calangute and Baga can also be visited for souvenirs and other local items. Cashew is a must buy as it is a speciality of Goa.

After having breakfast at the hotel, we recommend you to visit Fort Aguada and its lighthouse which flaunts its 17th century Portuguese Architecture. Basilica of Bom Jesus and Fort Chapora are some of the other places you can visit.

And here comes an end of the long and exotic journey, which not only gave you memories but also educated you briefly about the rich Indian culture and the history of Karnataka state. Breakfast will be provided at the hotel. Then you will be transferred to Goa airport to connect your flight to Mumbai. You will arrive at Mumbai where you are connected with your home bound flight or onward travel arrangements.
