This exciting 12 day tour will begin as soon as you arrive at airport of Hyderabad. This wonderful city also known as the ‘pearl city’ has a variety of tourist’s attractions.  Note that you will be travelling in the southern part of the country. After a traditional Indian welcome, you will be escorted to your hotel where you will be staying overnight.

Be it heritage monuments, delicious cuisines or great bazaars, Hyderabad has all that and much more. We will be visiting the majestic Golconda Fort followed by a visit to Charminar. Note that Charminar is one of the crowded areas of the city. The minar standing right in the middle of the road with market on the both sides of the road sell jewellery and handcrafted foot-wears. Other popular places like Salar Jung museum and Laad Bazaar (a shopper’s paradise) will also be covered today. You could stop by at Karachi Bakery to buy some popular cookies. You will find these bakeries at every corner of Hyderabad, popular for their cakes and biscuits.

Next in tour is the visit to the Chowmahalla Palace. Built by Nizams, today the palace has been converted into a museum and is kept opened for tourists and wedding ceremonies. Overnight stay will be at the hotel in Hyderabad.

From Hyderabad, we will be heading towards Bidar in West direction today. The crown of Karnataka, Bidar is approx 2.5 hours’ drive. Here, you will be visiting the Bidar fort, the power centre of Bahamanis. Interestingly this fort has three entrances. Spread over area 1.21 kilometres this fort has a haphazard quadrangular structure. The walls of the fort measure 4,500 yards. Does it now sound like that you eagerly want to go there?

In case there is some extra time left, we will also be visiting the tombs Bahamani rulers. Next we will move towards Solapur, towards the South-East edge of Maharashtra. Overnight stay will be at a hotel in Solapur.

From Solapur, we will be driving to Bijapur early in the morning towards South direction. Here we will be visiting beautiful monuments inside fortified capital of Adil Shahi rulers. We will also be going to the Gol Gumbad, tomb of Mohammad Adil shah. Focus point of this monument is the huge 44 meters in diameter dome. This makes it the second largest dome ever constructed. Overnight stay will be at a hotel in Bijapur.

Next day we will be heading further towards South to Badami, known for its art and architecture and the former capital of the Chalukyas. Here we will be visiting Badami cave complex and the temples of Bhutanatha Lake. Badami is renowned for its rock-cut cave shrines, an outstanding example of early Chalukyan art. The caves are sure to take your breath away with their simple exteriors but exquisite interiors! The town is picturesquely situated at the mouth of a ravine, between two rocky red-sandstone hills. Badami has a fort atop the hill and there are four rock-cut shrines on a very tall rock, one situated above the other.

We will be staying at a hotel in Badami.

After breakfast, we will be leaving for Hospet. Badami to Hospet is approx. 2 hours’ drive by road at a stretch. We will stop at Aihole to visit the famous temple complex dating back to 6th century. The very old village of Aihole, displays great architecture within its crumbling walls, in all, the ruins of about 125 temples. Before we finally reach Hospet and check in at the hotel for night, we will also be stopping to visit Pattadakal, a World Heritage site, situated on the banks of river Malaprabha. At Pattadakal you will be taken, to see the varied art on the monuments built under Chanakya Dynasty, which is spread across an area of four acres, has four large and six small temples, to name a few: Virupaksha Temple, Kailasa Temple, Mallikarjuna Temple, Galaganatha Temple, KashiVishveshwara Temple, Papanatha Temple.

Overnight Stay will be at a hotel in Hospet.

Day will be dedicated entirely for exploring the capital of the kingdom of Vijayanagar at Hampi. This World Heritage Site is located around 15 kilometres from Hospet. The kingdom of Vijaynagar is of great historic significance and the majestic ruins of this mighty kingdom. The once powerful Vijayanagar Empire, of which Vijaynagara was a part, was compared to Rome by Portuguese traveller Paes.

A visit to Virupaksha Temple, that forms the core of Hampi village; Lakshminarasimha, the massive 22 feet high largest idol in Hampi; Durbar Enclosure, comprising of – Mahanavami Dibba Pushkarini or stepped wells, Lotus Mahal, Elephant Stables, Queen’s Bath and Vitthala Temple, the stone chariot is planned for the day. We will be staying at a hotel in Hospet.

Next day, we will be leaving for Hassan, drive to which will be a long one. We will be travelling towards South-West direction. Chitradurga is renowned as the land of valour and chivalry, its history has been traced to Mauryan Empire dating to the 3rd millennium B.C., to the period of Ramayana and Mahabharata. Chitradurga is known as the “stone fortress, in fact, the boulders on which major part of the city rests belong to the oldest rock formation in country.

After we check-in at the hotel, you may spend the evening to relax and refresh yourself after a long and tiring journey.

Once we are done with the breakfast, we will be going to visit the Belur and Halebidu to see the Hoysala temples which were built in the 12th century. Belur was the capital of Hoysala Empire and is also known as Dakshin (or Southern) Varanasi. After this, we will be visiting the breathtakingly beautiful district of Coorg and then will head towards the hotel for an overnight stay.

The Omkareshwara Temple and Abbey falls will be in schedule today. Interestingly, the history of Omkareshwara Temple is inscribed by the king himself and you will see it written on a copper plate hanging at the entrance of the temple. The Abbey Falls is the most popular fall of the region and is approx. 5 kilometres drive from the town.

Located in the hills of Western Ghats, Coorg has a great historic significance. This beautiful city has been ruled by Kadambas, Gangas, Chenalvars, Cholas, Hoysalas, Vijaynagara and British. The day will be planned for a visit to Talacauvery&Bhagamandala. Every year, this pilgrimage centre witnesses water gushing out from a small pond, which is the birth place of river Kaveri. You will get to see the natural beauty from Brahmagiri Hills.

The other part of the day is set for a visit to Gaddige – A significant monument in Coorg. The beauty of this monument is that they are carved magnificently in Muhammandan style with dome. You will notice that the doors and windows of monument are made of fine brass.  The night will be spent at the hotel.

After breakfast we will be leaving for Mysore travelling towards South direction from Coorg. On our way to Mysore, we will be visiting Bylakuppe – a small Tibetan settlement and explore the Tibetan way of life. On arrival, the later hours will be left for your relaxation. We will be staying at a hotel in Mysore.

On this day we will be visiting Chamundi Hill, Tipu Sultan’s Palace and Somnathpur Temple. Chamundi hill is approx. 13 kilometres from the city. Popular in India and overseas, Chamundi hill is among the most scared hills of southern India. You will see the summer palace of Tipu Sultan built of teak wood. You will also get to see a painting crafted by ruler Tipu Sultan himself.

Somnathpur Temple or the Chennakesava Temple is approx. 35 kilometres from the town. It depicts one of the best examples of Hoysala architecture. This will be followed by a visit to popular vegetable and fruit markets of Mysore before we head towards the hotel for an overnight stay.
